Threats to Your Wealth
You worked hard to create, save, and manage your wealth, now
you want to protect it. You want to enjoy your wealth for the remainder
of your life and your spouse's life and then use it to take care of your
loved ones. However, forces exist in society today which could cause you
or your family to lose this wealth. These hostile forces can be anticipated
and planning implemented to minimize or altogether avoid these threats
to your wealth.
Your Parents' Financial Affairs
According to the Second Annual Estate Planning Survey published
in 1996 by Merrill Lynch, most Americans have incomplete knowledge of estate
planning issues, and many have not taken steps to arrange their affairs.
The study also revealed that the older we get, the more we tend to avoid
estate planning. Failure to plan for the inevitable is flirting with disaster.
